    Transform Yourself

Jillian Michaels, the kick-butt trainer on "The Biggest Loser" is in town this weekend, speaking at the EDiets Live seminar at the Embassy Suites, Fort Lauderdale.

I had a chance to talk with her and she's one of the nicest people I've encountered - and not surprisingly, incredibly motivational. I was going to skip going to the gym, but after talking to Jillian, I just had to go - she took away all my excuses (and believe me, I have plenty of them :) ).

If you think you don't have time to exercise, or you're too tired, here's what Jillian says:

"You get out of this life what you put in. So when you make your car payment, you have to work to make the money to pay for that car; when you pay your rent, or your mortgage, you have to work for the money to live in that house. Well it's the same with a healthy body. You have to work, you have to put in the time to have that healthy body, and you can make it fun.

Take a salsa class, take a spinning class, take a kickboxing class, get outdoors with your kids, walk your dog. Don't make it tedious, make it something fun - and if that still doesn't do it for you, I'm going to say, look - you know your health is the platform your entire life is sitting on top of. Your family, your job, your vitality, your sex life, everything. It's all sitting on top of your health. When you don't have that, everything else suffers.

Sit down and write a list of all the reasons that you're looking for motivation, whether you're a twenty year old and you wnat to look great at spring break, or you're a thirty year old and you want to be able to pick up your five year old, or you're a fifty five year old and you want to see your grandchild graduate from college. Write down all of the reasons that you want to be healthy and you want to be in shape. That's your source of motivation and inspiration.

If your wish list and your dreams and your goals don't inspire you to make a change, nothing's going to."

Powerful words. Powerful ideas. Powerful motivation.

That's Jillian. You can read more at her website, http://www.jillianmichaels.com/; and to get info and register for the seminar, go to http://www.edietslive.com/.

    Transform Anger

How many times have you gotten upset about something, sent out an angry e-mail and made the situation worse?

Maria Soldani, one of our hosts of Be You Radio on Sunday mornings, has the perfect solution.

Go ahead, type that e-mail! Say everything you want to say. Get it all out.

Then hit DELETE. Don't send it. Just the process of expressing your feelings will help you put things into perspective. Then you can find a more productive way to resolve what's upsetting you, whether it's talking to someone in person or accepting a situation you can't change.

Maria has some other great tips coping with a bad day, and she'll share them this Sunday morning at 6 on Be You Radio, when we talk about Being Transformed. The featured guest is Robert Ohoto, author of "Transforming Fate Into Destiny".

You can hear past shows at www.beyouradio.com, in conjunction with Balance Magazine and the Work-Life Balance Institute for Women.

    Dwindling Man Pool

If you feel like it's hard to find a good single man who wants to commit, you may be right.

According to research by author Carl Weisman, more men are choosing bachelorhood over marriage, not because they're afraid of marriage, but because they don't want to get into a bad marriage. Weisman says men are 10 times more scared of marrying the wrong person than of never getting married at all.

The study is the basis for Weisman's new book, "So Why Have You Never Been Married? Ten Insights Into Why He Hasn't Wed".
