January 20th, 2009.
That's the date that Barack Obama will be inaugurated the 44th President of the United States - and the 1st African American President.
While admission to the dozen or so inaugural balls can be fairly pricey, the 240,000 tickets to the actual inauguration are free - as long as no one tries to scalp them. Some reports predict tickets may be sold online for as much as $40,000 - but California Senator Dianne Feinstein is working on a bill that would make scalping the tickets a federal crime.
Obviously, tickets go automatically to members of Congress, Supreme Court justices and the families of the President and the President-elect. But the public can also obtain tickets through Congressional offices. Here are details on the process.
