    Idol Camp

Do you think your kid is as talented as the 'American Idol' finalists? Or more talented, even! Well, you may be able to give your child a taste of the Idol experience without having to go through that massive auditioning process ... although it's not cheap.

For just $2995 (yes, some scholarships are available), kids age 10 - 15 will have the opportunity to hone their skills with experts in the music industry and former Idol finalists, at Idol Camp, a two-week sleepaway camp in the California mountains.

They'll learn about singing, dancing, acting and more, with a big show for parents at the end of the session.

As you might expect, attendance is limited to 400 campers per session - with 5 sessions ... so if that $2995 is sounding like just the right amount for a great vacation, you could also consider checking out some of our local theatres - most of them have summer arts camps for kids.

    Balance: Be authentic

Here's your mid-week Moment of Balance brought to you by the Work-Life Balance Institute for Women and Balance Magazine, helping you to be empowered, be inspired and be connected.

On this Sunday morning's edition of Be You Radio on LITE FM, we'll talk about how to Be Authentic.

Have you ever found yourself agreeing with someone just to avoid conflict … even though you don’t really agree? Or pretended to like something to impress a date (did you really want to spend the day watching drag racing)? Oh ... what about laughing at something that you don't really think is funny?! It leaves you with an empty feeling.

When you embrace who you really - your authentic self - you’ll be more at ease with your decisions and your life, because you’re following your true desires. Besides, it’s your uniqueness that makes you interesting.

Join us this Sunday morning at 6 on Be You Radio on 101.5 LITE FM to hear more about Being Authentic.

Hosts Liz Sterling and Maria Soldani from the Work-Life Balance Institute for Women will welcome Debbie Ford, author of “Why Good People Do Bad Things”; and Jan Knight of Knight Financial Services, who will share information about the “imposter syndrome”.
