In a historic end to a historic Presidential campaign, Barack Obama was elected the first African-American President of the United States. It was hard not to get misty-eyed when he spoke about how far the country has come from the days when women and African-Americans weren't even allowed to vote, much less be candidates for President or Vice-President.
Both candidates were incredibly eloquent and gracious in their end-of-campaign speeches, and Sarah Palin gets credit for the quote above, that it's "time to unite".
I expect it'll be difficult finding extra copies of today's newspapers - I know I'm keeping a copy to go with my collection of amazing headlines that includes man landing on the moon and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Here's a site where you can not only see our local newspaper headlines, but also the front pages from the rest of the country and newspapers from all over the world. It's fascinating!
