Autism is getting lots of attention lately, with 1 in 150 children diagnosed with the illness. Celebrities like Dan Marino and Jenny McCarthy are speaking out for more research to determine what causes autism, screening for earlier diagnosis and insurance coverage.
Florida Governor Charlie Crist is also urging insurance companies to cover at least a portion of autism treatment - which can cost tens of thousands of dollars a year.
I'll be at the Autism Speaks "Walk Now For Autism" on Saturday, April 12th at Nova Southeastern University. I hope you'll take a little time to join me for an inspiring morning and an opportunity to help children and families touched by autism.
