Here's your mid-week Moment of Balance brought to you by the Work-Life Balance Institute for Women and Balance Magazine, helping you to be empowered, be inspired and be connected.
On this Sunday morning's edition of Be You Radio on LITE FM, we'll talk about how to Be Focused, in your personal life and at work.
If you're having difficulty staying focused at work, take a look at what might be the cause.
1. Are you getting enough sleep? Not only can a lack of sleep make it hard to concentrate, when you're tired you're more likely to be irritable and more easily stressed out.
2. Are there distractions in the office? A lot of noise, people walking by, phones ringing, all those little things that vie for your attention. If necessary - and if you're allowed - wear headphones to cancel out the noise (better yet, plug the headphones into the radio and listen to LITE FM!). If you can, sit facing the wall, rather than the door of the office - you'll be less likely to look up everytime someone passes by, and co-workers will be less likely to stop in for idle chat.
3. Are you passionate about your work? It's tough to stay focused on something you don't care about. Take some time to determine your true goals and desires and seek work that keeps you on that path. If you're already in the right field, but just feeling a little burnt out, make a list of the good things about your job and your company. It will help revive your enthusiasm.
