No, I'm not quoting Grace Slick with "feed your head" - I'm talking about keeping your brain functioning at its best. As part of National Brain Awareness Month, The Pilot Club of Miami is hosting the Third Annual "Feed Your Brain" Book Fair.
It's this Thursday, March 13th at Barnes & Noble in Pembroke Pines (11820 Pines Blvd). From 4 to 8 p.m., you and the kids can enjoy puppet shows with The Brainminder Buddies who teach about protecting your brain for life and how to play safe and pay smart.
But it's not just for kids. With so many people living longer, Alzheimer's and dementia are more of a concern than ever. In some ways, your brain is like any other muscle - the more you exercise it, the stronger it'll be. Pilot Interntional can offer tips for adults too.
Here's one to start working on your memory ... how many digits of the number pi can you remember? Okay, just kidding - reading, doing crosswords and soduku are great brain exercise - you don't have to be a math genius!

Hi Ellen;I found your info last week on the Book Fair and truely enjoyed myself. I was entertained by the informative puppet show( I
wish I still had small children to enjoy it with) and visited thePilot Club display table in order to get some needed info about the eye opening ways to care for our brain. I even picked up a copy ofthe book "In An Instant" by\Bob Woodruff. He has had a long way back from the war injury he received in Irag. Thanks for staying in tune with our necessary Health issues.
